There is nothing better than a warm shower and a comfy bed after a long haul in economy cabin, or even a business class cabin for that matter. Especially, if you are connecting to another long haul flight.
While many airports have enhanced the services offered to transit passengers, not many offer complimentary shower rooms. I wanted to highlight airports that are transit friendly and offer free shower facilities. Note that the links on the airport will take you directly to the airport website with related information on shower facilities. Abu Dhabi International airport offers public shower facilities near departure gates 32 and AUH airline lounges also accept paying walk-in guests, that can use the shower facilities. Auckland International airport offers free showers in both International and Domestic terminals!!
The one in International terminal is located just outside the arrivals gate whereas the showers in Domestic terminal are located on the 1st floor. Dubai International Airport offers complimentary shower facilities for transit passengers, located in Terminal 3 between gates B13 and B19, and also between Gates C18 and C DXB also offers paid shower facilities, obviously. Incheon International airport offers several complimentary shower rooms for transit passengers Won for other passengers , available 24 hours: Near gate 25 and 29 on 4F in Teminal 1, Near gate and on 4F in Teminal 2.
Taipei Taoyuan International airport offers free showering facilities in arrivals 1F, 2F and departure 4F areas of terminal 1 and at terminal 2 in arrivals 1F and departure 4F sections. In December , a traveller at another airport reported that money and credit cards had been stolen from their bag even though the bag was right beside them. Protect and lock your bags as you would sleeping elsewhere in public. Buses are air-conditioned and green and white in color. Departures are every 40 minutes, 24 hours a day, and take about 45 minutes to travel between the airport and city depending on traffic. At the time of this update, a one-way bus fare is AED 4.
If you are flying economy class with Etihad, you may be eligible for free coach service whether you are arriving or departing from Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Connections are available to Dubai and Al Ain. The Etihad Coach service can be reserved online up to 24 hours prior to the flight. Car rental service is available 24 hours a day at Skypark Plaza, located opposite Terminal 3 and just a short walk from Terminals 1 and 3.
Skypark Plaza is accessible from Terminal 2 via free inter-terminal shuttle bus. Temporarily Unavailable. It takes 20 minutes to walk between any two terminals — AUH airport offers a free shuttle service, which runs in 15 minute intervals between Terminals 1 and 2.
Shuttle stops are located outside of Terminal 1 at Entrance 5, upper curbside, and Terminal 2 in front of the Departures Hall. Metered taxis are available hours a day at the airport. Terminals 1 and 3 are served by late-model six-seater Mercedes Vito vans. These luxury taxis are equipped with GPS and have extra baggage space and multilingual male or female drivers. Multiple currencies are accepted for payment. Terminal 2 is served by metered Toyota Camry taxis from taxi ranks outside of the Arrivals Hall.

Journey time is around 45 minutes, depending on traffic, and the single fare is AED4. However, Etihad premium passengers can take advantage of complimentary coach transport into Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai.
Taxi: Metered taxis operate from immediately outside all terminals. The fare into Abu Dhabi city starts at around AED80, and journey time varies between minutes according to the time of day.
There are numerous ATMs and full-service banks located in all three terminals. Travelex desks operate in the Arrivals Hall and in Terminal 1 and 3.
Abu Dhabi International Airport has a large range of shops showcasing international brands as well as a comprehensive selection of duty free goods.
Free luggage trolleys are widely available, along with fixed rate AED15 for porter services. Left luggage lockers are available, along with both short and long-term storage facilities.
