Dimitrovska said she was trying to defend herself when she threw an object at Ms Vulin whom she claimed was pointing pepper spray at her. The accused said she did not know the object she picked up was an open bottle of methylated spirits. Fighting back tears Dimitrovska turned to the jury and said she never intended to hurt Ms Vulin or cause the injuries she suffered. She admitted fleeing the scene after she saw Ms Vulin on fire, something she described as cowardly, but she said she just flipped out.
The court heard Dimitrovska was arrested a week later at Perth International Airport as she was trying to board a flight to Macedonia.
She also said that was why she lied to police and told them she did not know anything about what had happened. The jury has finished hearing all the evidence and the defence and prosecution lawyers are expected to present their closing addresses when the trial resumes tomorrow.

He was available to the prosecution and defence but both decided not to call him without giving an explanation to the jury. Dimitrovska is awaiting sentence on October 11, having been warned by the judge she faces a long jail term. One unseen victim of crime is her two-year-old daughter Taliah, whose father is in prison for unrelated offences. Mrs Dimitrovska is among a growing number of WA grandparents raising the children of drug users whose lives spiralled out of control.
Every second day, Taliah goes into Bandyup prison for an hour and once a month, she spends a day in the jail, along with the children of other women inmates. They sing, dance, try and fulfil what she would do if she had every day with her. She knows that her mum's going to wave and that's where she's going to be next time. I leave there empty every time. She says, 'Don't cry, Nanna'. Just months before the incident, Mrs Dimitrovska had tried to get her daughter and granddaughter out of Perth and back to Macedonia, away from the seedy drug scene.
The year-old wore a compression face mask for two years and eight months, and a garment for the rest of her body for three years. She went through five sets of braces and two jaw expanders, as she began to heal.
Any skin that wasn't damaged was used for skin grafts as doctors tried to get the Perth woman looking good as new, while she was forced to sleep on a crucifix for two-and-a-half year.
